About Us

The Tiny Tykes staff places an emphasis on nurturing and developmental activities for infants and toddlers. We extend that emphasis to preschool children with an added focus on pre-kindergarten concepts and skills.

All Tiny Tykes staff and teachers are nurturers, as well as educators. We encourage learning through exploration and understand the balance between what children need to feel safe, and what they require to reach their fullest potential.

Jamie Neppl

Owner/Director
jamie@tinytykesinc.net

Jamie Neppl has always loved kids, and has dedicated her life to nurturing and developing skills in children. After graduating from Breckenridge High School, Jamie went to NDSCS and earned her General Associates Degree with an emphasis in Pre-Education. From there, she transferred to Moorhead State and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

After completing her education, Jamie helped to launch ECI, an after-school program in the Wahpeton School District, where she served as the director. The program grew successfully, and in 2005, Jamie transitioned to a new role as the owner of Lil Tykes located in South Wahpeton.

Initially, the capacity of Lil Tykes could hold up to 18 children. Within a year and a half, the classes were full and there was an extensive waiting list. Parents needed a place for their children to receive nurturing and crucial developmental skills, so Jamie needed to expand her business.

In 2008, Lil Tykes expanded and rebranded as Tiny Tykes, with a new building in Wahpeton for a daycare licensed for up to 49 children.

The previous owner of the ECI after-school program reached out about the possibility of Jamie taking over the program once again. Jamie accepted the challenge and formed the Wahpeton Youth Club, which operated out of the Wahpeton School District. In 2013, the school district approached Jamie to take on the 21st Century Grant to expand the Wahpeton Youth Club after-school program into Fairmount, ND.

In 2018, Tiny Tykes expanded its operations and opened a second location in Battle Lake to provide nurturing and developmental services to infants and toddlers in the area.

Jamie Neppl lives in Breckenridge with her husband, Justin, and their three children, Karsyn, Easton, and Addisyn. Jamie and Justin have been married since 2005 and have lived in Breckenridge all their lives.

Ashley Griffin

Director, Battle Lake

Hi, my name is Ashley Griffin and I live outside of Dent with my significant other, LeRoy and our daughter, Oaklie.

I graduated from Battle Lake in 2014 and attended MSUM for Early Childhood. My whole life I wanted to open a daycare center or home daycare. In 2018 I stumbled upon this job opportunity offered by Tiny Tykes. I started working here as an Aide. In June of 2019 I was offered the Director position and didn’t hesitate to take it. Along with being the director I also teach ages 3-5 in our preschool room.

I enjoy working with the children so much as we are a crucial part of their development! The best part of my job is that I get to bring my daughter with me every day!

Holly Overmoe

Assistant Director, Preschool Teacher

Hi, my name is Holly Overmoe and I live with my husband, daughters Adlee & Teagan.

My mom teaches in Breckenridge, so growing up I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps and be able to teach children. When I graduated Breckenridge High School I attended NDSCS for my generals and then transferred to Moorhead State where I received my associates degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education in the spring of 2018. I am the Assistant Director as well as the 4- and 5-year-old Preschool Teacher at Tiny Tykes. In 2020 I also became a Reading Corps Tutor and implement that into my classroom curriculum. I enjoy my job and love working with the children!
